ABOUT

At Vanessa Newman Property Lawyers our business is our client.  We offer a personal approach and offer appointments to clients in their own homes at an hour to suit them.  We understand that whilst you are dealing with a property transaction normal life goes on and so we will work outside of 'non-standard' hours to accommodate calls and meetings, leaving you with the minimal amount of upheaval to your everyday life.

Conveyancing firms are often solicitors who offer the personal service but are old school in their approach to problems, fighting amongst themselves over issues rather than resolving them, and not overly concerned about technology or the time the transaction takes. The alternative is large online conveyancers who are very technology and timescale led but who completely lack any personal service at all, as the transactions may be dealt with by teams and a client may never get to speak to the same person twice.

We want to take the best of both services and offer the client a service where they can be assured that we use as much technology as is possible to assist us in the transaction, we will think outside of the box to find solutions to problems, we will get the transaction to completion as quickly as possible and we will make sure that the client has a personal service from their fee earner.

What our clients say about us:

"We started working with Vanessa on the sale of our house and a rental flat just before the pandemic and both sales turned out to be complicated - one a listed, converted property in a conservation area and one involving a shared ownership property in the chain and a ‘missing freeholder’. Vanessa’s unfailing patience, calm demeanour and detailed knowledge of her field came into play throughout the last year and helped us to get to completion of both sales with minimum stress. Vanessa was open to working ‘with’ our estate agents and, when appropriate, liaising with them directly, making for an efficient use of everyone’s time. Vanessa also worked with us in the purchase of a plot of land to build, which raised issues we had not considered, but she guided us through with extreme efficiency.

Throughout all 3 transactions, we were kept informed and always had our calls or queries answered promptly. Vanessa and her team also responded very promptly to other solicitors’ queries - a courtesy not usually reciprocated.

We would wholeheartedly recommend Vanessa Newman Property lawyers for any conveyancing work. She and her team were friendly, approachable and dealt with us with integrity and complete professionalism."

PEOPLE
Vanessa T Newman SocLC

DIRECTOR & LICENSED CONVEYANCER

Vanessa has over 20 years’ experience in the Property Market with the last 9 years being Conveyancing.  She started out as an Estate Agent and went on to become a Property Manager with a large property management firm where she dealt with all aspects off a property sale. Her journey to Conveyancing began when she became a Case Handler in 2010 with Licensed Conveyancers, Secure Legal Solutions, who are now DC Law, and at the same time she started out on her studies to qualify as a Licensed Conveyancer. She qualified in 2013 having successfully passing all modules, two with merit, whilst continuing to work at DC Law and raise a family.

She then went on to join Copleys Solicitors as a Licensed Conveyancer where she specialised in residential conveyancing for both freehold and leasehold property.  She has experience in shared ownership property, government backed deposit schemes and new builds. She can also deal with re-mortgages, transfers of equity, and draft Deeds of trust.  She is also a member of the Society of Licensed Conveyancers.

She prides herself on her communication with clients and for explaining everything thoroughly and in straight forward terms that are easy to understand.  She understands that each person’s transaction is of major importance and completely personal to them. Her previous experience in the field of property means that she understands the need for good communication with all parties to prevent issues arising.

One of her clients said the following to her: “I just wanted to give you a quick message to pass our thanks and gratitude towards you for all you have done in relation to our sale and purchase, it’s been a long journey with many ups and downs but now it is finally at an end I am left with a wonderful home and a new start for my family. I don’t think we would have made it without your hard work and sympathetic ear to all our frustrations over the process”

Outside of work Vanessa is a keen cook. She also enjoys reading, cross stitch embroidery, walking her dogs with her partner, listening to music and socialising with friends.
